Mrs. Shurin, 54, is the deputy executive director of AIDS-Related Community Services, a nonprofit organization in Hawthorne, N.Y., serving people with AIDS in the Hudson Valley. Dr. Shurin, 64, is an associate professor of pediatrics at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx. He is also an associate pediatrician specializing in infectious diseases at Children's Hospital at Montefiore Medical Center, also in the Bronx.
